<p class="MsoNormal">I want to announce that SAP steps back from the jdk11u updates<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">project after the October 2024 release 11.0.25.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">All our customer and internal usages of SapMachine 11 will have been
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">moved to SapMachine 17 or 21 so that we can terminate support of
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">SapMachine 11 by December 2024 as previously announced.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We will have helped Red Hat, the lead of the jdk11u updates project,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">to maintain OpenJDK 11u through 23 releases, all the way from<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">11.0.3 to 11.0.25 by then. We want to thank Red Hat to have us<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">in the project, and also Oracle and everybody from the community<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">in helping maintain 11u so far.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">In detail we will terminate our efforts to<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> * backport fixes to jdk11u<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> * tag releases of jdk11u<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> * approve backport requests<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> * bundle and push the embargoed security changes<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> * testing of the OpenJDK 11u repositories<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> * update the project related wiki pages<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">after the October 11.0.25 release.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">We will still be available to help with changes in the<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">ppc port or any issues where we can help with our<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">experience in OpenJDK wrt. jdk11u. Also we will help to<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">take care of 11.0.25 during its lifetime, i.e., in<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">case a patch release is necessary. But for now there is <o:p>
</o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">still some work to do to get 11.0.24 and 11.0.25 out of the <o:p>
</o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">door!<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Naturally, we will continue our support of the<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">jdk17u and jdk21u updates projects.<o:p></o:p></p>
