when will java-code be compiled to native-code?

Hi,
 When will java-code  be compiled to native-code, and the related code files

under HotSpot are? I tried "grep hotspot -R *" but still cannot pinpoint the
entry/function
for that, how to locate it?


 BTW, are there any more development documents for HotSpot ?? About the
outline,
important classes/functions, and lots of code files here and there, etc.
It's too bad that
there are too many codes but fewer dev-docs:(
