[BACKPORT] 6610244: modal dialog closes with fatal error if -Xcheck:jni is set

Hi,

This is a request to backport the fix for 6612044.

It's been in jdk7 since March 25th, 2008:

and according to:

http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6610244

it went into the proprietary 6u14 update.

This is required for the backport of 6769607 and has been
in IcedTea since 2011-06-09.
