This may work, but I don't know if anyone has ever tested this
combination (patch from IcedTea7 with OpenJDK6).

This is probably the best option. The IcedTea6 builds use an updated
version of this patch (which takes into account some changes in code as
well as license changes):

It should apply cleanly to the b28 release.
