OpenJDK6 End Of Life

Azul Systems would still like to offer to take over leadership of this
project from the beginning of next year. To comply with the Bylaws of
the OpenJDK 6 project, the Project Lead needs to have Committer status
on the project. Simon Ritter does not have this status and so he is not
eligble (at this time) to lead the project. Since I am a committer on
the OpenJDK 6 project I would therefore like to offer to represent Azul
as Project Lead.
Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
Thanks,
Andrew.

I'd like to formally offer to take over the lead of the OpenJDK 6 project. Azul Systems (my employer) has clients who would like to continue to use JDK 6 and we will continue to support them. In the spirit of the OpenJDK project we would like to continue to push any bug fixes into the OpenJDK 6 source tree.
I'm happy to discuss this, as required.
Regards,
Simon.
