request for backport: 6752638: java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment.preferLocaleFonts() throws NPE on Linux

Hello,

 a fix for 6378099: RFE: Use libfontconfig to create/synthesise a fontconfig.properties
 has been recently backported into jdk6:

 This change makes jdk6 vulnerable to a problem described in the bug 6752638:
 java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment.preferLocaleFonts() throws NPE on Linux

 I suggest to backport the fix for 6752638 into jdk6 as well.

 Please note that this changeset contains two different fixes: for 6752638
 and for 6755034. The fix for 6755034 is not required for jdk6, so we need
 to backport only the part of the changeset which is related to 6752638:
