Yes.  It restores the behavior previous to this changeset

so it's been thoroughly tested.

UseNUMA is used for both specjbb2005 single jvm runs and specjvm2008 runs,
so it's fairly critical.  Also, free_memory() is only used by the NUMA 
collector.
We're going to push it into hs15 for 6u14p, for which it's the last 
minute as well.

I can understand the paranoia.
