[7u6] Request for approval for CR 7110396 - Sound code fails to build with gcc 4.6 on multiarch Linux systems

Request for approval to backport following change to 7u6 repo.
The change is identical to the one in jdk8:

Verified that the patch works by building the forest locally on my 
Ubuntu 11.10 workstation. Also verified that I didn't break anything by 
running a JPRT build.
