Is this issue really causing a problem with jdk7u? I ask because the 
main issue that was the original bug report has already been fixed in 7u 
and 7132889 morphed into addressing two residual issues that aren't too 
significant.

(BTW: I'm not objecting to this being back-ported, just trying to 
understand whether someone is running into this or whether this is just 
about trying to keep the 7u code in sync with 8).
