Concern about Java 7u40 timeline

Yes - JDK-8017174 is fixed in jdk7u40b34. I've pinged the bugs.sun.com
team about the fact that it doesn't seem to display the latest up to
date information around build number integration [1]. Hopefully they can
fix that up.
