I wasn't referring to a patch that existed.  My point was about the text
(since removed in 8021946):

"The 7u40 release notes describe a temporary mechanism"...

when the OpenJDK repository doesn't contain any such release notes.  If,
hypothetically speaking, we submitted a patch that said:

"The 1.13.0 release notes describe a temporary mechanism"...

would that be acceptable?  Personally, I wouldn't think so, but it is the
equivalent, though it refers to an IcedTea release rather than a proprietary
Oracle JDK release.  Neither set of release notes are part of OpenJDK.

I'm glad the text has now been changed for the better.
