Issue with computing minimal text view span

Hi all

Currently our team moves application from java6 to java7. This application
uses custom text rendering component which does not work correctly on
java7. I am not sure if behaviour related to text views on java7 is
incorrect or just different from the on in java6. I have logged bug at
https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/show_bug.cgi?id=100306. Could someone review
it?
