This patch has been in IcedTea 2.x since the 2.5.6 & 2.6.0 releases in
July 2015.

The changeset is identical to the one in 8 (bar adjusting the copyright
header change) and is a fix for a compatibility issue introduced
by 7044060 (see IcedTea bug for details).
