Hi All,

I'd like approval for a JDK 8 backport of JDK-6976636 
(https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-6976636)

The JDK 9 changeset does not applies clearly so here is webrev:

The only difference is that there is no changes in the copyright header 
in JDK 8 backport. The significant part of changeset is absolutely the 
same as in the original JDK 9 fix.
