That's the problem right here. You guys mention "historically", but does not make it policy either.
I can agree there is a disagreement about the interpretation for the meaning of "8", but unless the
official meaning is actually codified somewhere easily accessible to all JBS users (e.g. can JIRA
provide help about what each version means?), this confusion would happen again and again.
I can yield and drop some of the additions of "8", where it does not make sense if we accept "8" to
mean "8 GA", but the same thing would happen very soon with someone else.
