You should be able to build a 32-bit linux jdk and test it on x32.

Does anyone on the list have access to a sparc box? I'm very hesitant to approve an untested backport. I'd be fine with just the x32/64 part though.

    I should have clarified that tests were run on x86_64. I don't have
    SPARC hardware to test unfortunately.
