Thanks for provided details. It really helps to understand the impact. There are a lot of apps mentioning the URL in comment to something similar. Now the impact seems much wider.

Agree. Choosing between finding for a proper forward-fix now, leaving as is and reverting, later seems most appropriate.
I'll file an jira issue and label it as jdk8u-critical-request.
I'm not going to do a webrev for simple backport.
