RFR: backport of 8239819

Hi all,

i would like to backpor the following bug to jdk8u:

https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8239819

The patch applies almost cleanly, the obvious exception is the
copyright year but also a line in the
src/solaris/classes/sun/awt/X11/XToolkit.java caused by the presence
of a field that isn't there anymore in the original patch, so this
probably needs a quick review:

I tested with the usual jtregs and manually and can't see any problem.
