RFR: 8263099: TimSortStackSize2.java throws OOM when using -XX:-UseCompressedOops

"hg log" says that this test has had quite a few problems since JDK 8. These are the post JDK 8 ones.

If at all possible, I'd prefer to see these backported, excepting 8201766, 8187443, 8149391, and probably 8140189. The backports should apply pretty cleanly if done in order.

the heap.
