This looks fine to me. This is looks like a missing aarch64 hunk nearly verbatim.

D'oh. I thought I did that patch in aarch64-port/jdk8u downstream too, but apparently I did not. And 
since I filed no aarch64-specific issue against 8-aarch64 at the time, it went unnoticed until now, 
dang. Thanks for picking that up!

I agree with Felix, it is low-risk enough to consider for 8u292 rampdown.
