    Alexey is doing active backporting work for 8u [1]. Having the committer role
    would aid this backporting work by avoiding the need to wait for sponsorship of
    fixes, after review & approval.

    Votes are due by 00h00 UTC on Tuesday, the 24th of January 2023.

    Only current OpenJDK 8 Updates Committers (and above) [2] are eligible to vote
    on this nomination.
