JSR Proposal: Java SE 9 Platform JSR (379)

FYI, a JSR Proposal for the Java SE 9 Platform (JSR 379) [0] has been submitted to the JCP with Mark Reinhold and I as co-Specification Leads and initial Expert Group participants from Google, Red Hat, IBM, and Oracle.

The JSR Review period is approximately four weeks, ending on 13 June.
After the Review has completed, and assuming that the Review Ballot succeeds, this is the anticipated JSR schedule:

    2016/6 Expert Group formation
    2016/7 Early Draft Review
    2016/9 Public Review
    2017/1 Proposed Final Draft
    2017/3 Final Release
