As a general comment, previously it has been JDK policy to first put a
fix in the latest development release to let it
soak/bake/ferment/some-other-food-related-process before backporting to
earlier release families.
With the successful policy of forward ported changes between JDK 9 and
JDK 10 - over 1,500 fixes were hg-synced over - I think we should
consider using a similar policy in other circumstances too.
