Well, as one example, Red Hat's app server (EAP/Widlfly) uses JBoss
Remoting (although it will still use CORBA if you want).
n.b. I currently work for Red Hat but I'm answering this mostly because
I used to work for Data Logic in the UK many, many years ago (no,
/really/ many -- we are talking 1990-91) when CORBA was the wave of the
future :-).
