The test failure "Invalid alignment constraint for member layout: D8(d)" on AIX occurs because the default alignment mode is power where the subsequent double fields  is 4 byte aligned, but the generated double is D8, 8 byte aligned. 
Using the natural alignment mode resolves the test failures
