Sv: Agent release

Hi Mario,
I believe we have two options - we either use semantic versioning for the agent, or we simply go with the same version as JMC (core / application).
If we go with the same version as JMC, we do it out of convenience. If we go with semantic versioning, we do it because we try to use semantic versioning for the rest of JMC. An 8.0.0 version for the agent indicates that the agent is a mature piece of software. I don't believe it would be fair to say that for the agent.
If semantic versioning, I was thinking 0.9.0 for this release. I think it's mostly feature complete for a first release, but I haven't had time to run it through the kind of testing that would make me comfortable denoting it 1.0.0.
No matter which way we go, it will still be a first "official" release, in that I propose that it get built by downstream vendors so that it can see some wider use.
Regarding remaining issues, there are two open PRs that need to get in. After all is in, I'd suggest trying out all the supported features in some more advanced applications, preferably featuring multiple classloaders.
Kind regards,
Marcus

Ämne: Agent release
Hi Marcus,
I was looking at the JMC bugs and noticed this:
https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JMC-7044
What is the expected timeline for a first "official" release?
I would like to have the Agent officially released as part of 8.0, are there any particular issues still pending that need to be addressed first?
Cheers,
Mario
