Yes, we can add "events" handling to -prof perf. It was not added before, because most users are
fine with -prof perfnorm. Please hack up the patch, if you are willing. If not, I'd get around to it
some time later.

Yes. JMH contributions follow the general OpenJDK guidelines: http://openjdk.java.net/contribute/.
On the up side, after our OCA is accepted, you can contribute changes to every other part of OpenJDK.
