Do you mean something like:

    JavaThreadIteratorWithHandle jtiwh;
    jlong result = ThreadService::exited_allocated_bytes();
    while (JavaThread *thread = jtiwh.next()) {
      ...

That would be fine for me. Otherwise I agree with the current compromise between accuracy and speed.
