You realize that you are saying this on a mailing-list that is run (in the
open) by Oracle, focused on discussions of major features going into the
next release of the JDK and which just hosted a discussion on the merits of
Optional containing about one hundred messages so far, right?

What you are calling "The JDK team is not listening" seems to more like
"The JDK team made a decision I disagree with".
