At a first glance, the second zip alternative seems the easiest one for me. 

I find the whole idea of the stream offsetting really ingenious and I feel I
will find other applications for it.

 

Anyway I will try all of them and test for performance, along with the
solution that Boaz Nahum provided to me. It is based on FlatMapper and needs
a deeper thought in the API.

 

 

It's amazing the diversity alternatives that the Stream API provides.
