From Naoto.Sato at Sun.COM Thu Apr 16 14:33:11 2009 From: Naoto.Sato at Sun.COM (Naoto Sato) Date: Thu, 16 Apr 2009 14:33:11 -0700 Subject: [loc-en-dev] JCK test Message-ID: <49E7A417.8050104@Sun.COM> Hello, This is an update regarding the JCK requirement. Internally I raised the issue about JCK being not opensourced so how an open project outside of Sun can develop JCK tests. Here is the information I got (through my manager): --- Here's the email address for locale enhancement team to ask about JCK questions (including how that team can/should go about JCK test development for features intending for JDK 7). jck-testdev at sun.com Please be sure to send all info about that project so he can take a look to see if this is possibly something his team can help with (no promise but they'll take a look and then advise). --- My impression was that if we let them know the scope of this project and provide the complete API document, they will eventually create JCK tests. Might not be on time for JDK7 release, due to the lack of JCK resources, though. I checked Doug and he also does not have any topics to discuss today. So I will cancel the project conf call today. Doug will write a note to the JDK7 list to check with the committee folks about the feature proposal process. I should have more time by next conf call (we'll declare ICU 4.2 code freeze today and I do not have any major tasks left for the release, so my workload should be decreased). Thanks, Yoshito
