JFileChooser not seeing network mounted files on 1.7.0_06 on Mac

Using build 1.7.0_06-b22 my JFileChooser doesn't seem able  to find my 
NAS, although mounted and shown under Shared in my Finder

Is this is a known issue or am I doing something dumb
