JRE/JDK for OSX and Java Preferences

I believe the thinking was that it would typically be developers running java from the command line, and they may well want to have multiple versions (JDKs) installed at the same time, and thus the ability to execute the target with a specific version of Java. You can only have a single JRE installed at any time on OS X.
