This is another good reason why Oracle should ditch the .pkg installer for the .jdk bundles, use the old drag-install process, and ship each .dmg with distinct names for each bundle (i.e. "1.7.0u4-b123.jdk").

It's a lot more transparent to developers, allows multiple concurrent installations, and has an obvious uninstallation process.
