Dropping java-dev?
In the interest of accuracy.
There still seems to be some differences in our respective properties. For me as I think I already said Java 6 gives file.encoding = MacRoman.
No where is it UTF-8.
Including Java 7 where it is US-ASCII for both openjdk and Oracle builds as I just said.
As far as I know, it isn't breaking anything for me so I guess I still don't plan to file a bug report. 
Sorry for the additional noise but I think the information should at least be accurate and java 6 for me is not UTF-8 file.encoding.
