All Menus disappear

I'm not remembering if this has been discussed. I'm not finding it in my back mail. I have an application I've been working with mostly using Apple's Java 6 but just set up an openjdk version.
Using apple.laf.useScreenMenuBar in the openjdk after I put up a window and dismiss it going back to the main window all of my menus disappear.
It doesn't seem to reproduce with the Apple jvm.

Is this a known issue or should I bug report?
