I don't disagree, but the action of doing that is not my in my control. 
I don't even know for sure who owns it.

All I can say is that the wiki http://openjdk.java.net/projects/macosx-port/
refers to it as "Old Mac OS X Port JIRA 
<http://java.net/jira/browse/MACOSX_PORT>" and refer you to the email 
sent to this list in Dec. 2011 that ..

"... we will freeze the Mac OS X Port JIRA instance on java.net and 
continue the bug
tracking by regular JDK means (i.e., Bugster)."

So it should have been made read-only shortly after that.
