Hi all,

the subject title is: “OT - Selecting a Mac for development”

That means you have to have some other machine(s) to make your testings else you will fall into the “developer's syndrome” as I say since the mid-80s.

That is: it works fine here: it will work fine everywhere. AS some persons rated: it can looks bad (or slow) on some other machine.

As a developer I must have a fast machine (and a large screen), but I have to keep in mind my target customers: they may have a slower machine, their screens can be smaller that my wonderful 23" external monitor (on my glorious MacBook Pro 15").
They also may not understand what is a MBA13, so I will have to write it clear: this is a MacBook Air 13".

That said, for some unknown reason, I only realized at the time of the last MacBook Air release the 13" screen resolution: same as my current (from 2011-11) MacBook Pro 15": 1,440 x 900 !!! Less weight (not that this matter much… it matters), les table foot print, less $, less processor speed too… but 2013 machine.

I may wait 'till the end of this year before a new purchase.

Regards,

Emile
