Using Application.getApplication().setDockIconImage()

When I minimize the main window of my application can you set the image 
of the minimized window on the dock with

Application.getApplication().setDockIconImage()

or is that for the application icon on the dock.

Apologies if I'm using the wrong terminology, I'm not an OSX native.

If this is true,is there way to automatically set the image to a 
representation of the window with a minimized icon image at the lower 
right handside, as this seems to be what other applications do.
