Simple applet that may reproduce the key screen refresh problem

I found another of our test applets that shows similar component refresh problems.  I posted a working copy and full source code at http://www.segal.org/java/refresh5/

 

Is it better to combine this and the other version in one report or do two separate reports?  It is always hard to tell whether it is the same bug or different ones.  This version has some history in triggering two bugs years ago, as I detailed on http://www.segal.org/java/refresh5/

 

I’m about 80% through our collection of test applets from http://www.segal.org/java/ and it seems worth checking the others to see if there are other problems to fix.  It should be possible to get Java on Macintosh as solid as Java on Windows.
