I reversed this to use the 1.8 JDK same error.
I replaced the MacOS executable with the one from my old application.
I then get a alert window with JRELoadError.

I removed the Plugins embedded jdk and changed the plist to reflect that.
The app seems to start loading then disappears, nothing going to Console.app.
