Due to some amusing coincidence, I was talking about proposing Andrew & Andrew
(and Clemens) for membership with Mark and Iris before the holidays as well, as
I have no doubt you have spoken with other people about this proposal.
In my conversation with Mark and Iris, it became clear to me that there should
only be one nomination per CFV email. Otherwise, in case where people wish to
vote differently (abstain, or veto) for different nominees, it can quickly get
very messy to figure out where a vote stands. So as a first TODO item, please make
sure to send one CFV separately for each nominee.
Secondly, if you look at the template for group member nominations at
http://openjdk.java.net/groups/#group-member , it contains a <contributor description>
section. While one may be able to get away with a "meets the criteria" description
within a Project or a Group where everyone has known everyone else for a long time due
to their work on the same code, the OpenJDK Members group is kind of the opposite of that
- it's a cross section of the entire community, so introducing the nominees becomes
a lot more important, since the eligible voters may not be intimately familiar with
their contributions. So please make sure to add a contributor description section in
each CFV.
tl;dr: please send out new, updated CFVs for the four nominees, and let's get the votes
started.
cheers,
