I am pleased to nominate Gil Tene to an At-Large Member position on the
OpenJDK Governing Board.

Gil is well known to both the OpenJDK and Java communities. He has been
active with Java for 25 years and has been building JDKs for 18 of those
years. I have known Gil professionally for approximately 10 years
through our mutual involvement in OpenJDK and Java, and I have followed
his and Azul's contributions and involvement in Java and OpenJDK for
even longer. With Gil's experience in leading an independent provider of
both free and supported JDK distributions for almost two decades, I
believe Gil offers important perspective on advancing the Java ecosystem
and furthering community interests. Gil has a long track record of
working to ensure and maintain a level playing field for vendors and
ensure that stable, credible and free Java runtimes are available for
all.

Gil is an active developer and contributor to multiple open source
projects. Gil's technical experience and exposure within the JVM and JDK
is quite broad based. Gil is a Java Champion and a frequent speaker at
developer conferences. He has been a community elected member of the JCP
Executive Committee for the past 9 years where his community involvement
and business experience have made him an important voice for
representing and forwarding the community interests of Java developers.
His extensive experience in matters both technical and procedural makes
him a valuable asset to the Java and OpenJDK community.

Gil will be an excellent member of the OpenJDK Governing Board.
