I'd like to nominate Chris Thalinger as a candidate for At-Large Member on the OpenJDK Governing Board.
Chris has been a tireless advocate for Java and OpenJDK, serving on the Governing Board during the past year, as well as circling the globe (literally!) to speak at numerous conferences about the benefits of using OpenJDK and the Graal JIT at Twitter. He has been working with HotSpot and OpenJDK for more than 15 years, originally at Oracle as a member of the HotSpot compiler development team and more recently at Twitter. His work w/Graal has led to its adoption by most of Twitter's production services, yielding significant performance improvements. He has also worked on the C2 JIT, optimizations for invokedynamic, and did an initial port of Graal to the Sparc architecture.
I believe Chris will serve the OpenJDK Community well as a Governing Board member, and am pleased that he is willing to run again this year.
Regards,
John Coomes
