I would like to nominate Andrew Haley for the vote as an At-Large
Member of the OpenJDK Governing Board.
Andrew has been on the OpenJDK Governing Board (GB) as an At-Large
Member from it's inception. As part of this he has done a fantastic job
representing the OpenJDK community and wider Java community as a whole.
He is a person living and breathing Open Source and has shown this time
and time again at events surrounding OpenJDK and on the OpenJDK
governing board. He is a great listener and isn't shy of bringing up
issues when they arise. As such, a great fit on a board that "oversees
the structure, operation, and overall health of the OpenJDK
Community"[1].
Beyond his role on the OpenJDK GB in the past, Andrew is a major
contributor to the OpenJDK project. Most recently he has authored JEP
JEP 487: Scoped Values (Fourth Preview). Andrew is the lead of the
Aarch64 Port project, the JDK 11u stream of the JDK Updates Project and
is a very active reviewer on the OpenJDK project.
His technical expertise, diplomacy and expert knowledge of the OpenJDK
bylaws and procedural intricacies of the OpenJDK project make him an
excellent candidate for an At-Large Membership seat on the Governing
Board.
Thanks,
Severin
