I would like to nominate Roman Kennke for an At-Large seat in the
OpenJDK Governing Board.

Roman has been an active contributor to Java and JVMs since more than
20 years. He is involved in OpenJDK since its inception in 2007, and
has contributed in many areas including the graphics stack,
observability tools, JIT compilers, Garbage Collectors and the HotSpot
runtime. Roman is one of the principal authors of the Shenandoah GC
since its inception in 2013, and is leading that project since 2018.
He is also leading the project Lilliput since 2021. Roman is a Java
Champion and has been speaking about Java and JVM technology at
various conferences like JVMLS, FOSDEM and JavaOne.

Professionally, Roman has worked on JVMs and OpenJDK in various
companies. Starting in 2005, until 2009 at aicas on a realtime Java
VM, 2009 to 2010 at Sun Microsystems/Oracle's Java client group, from
2012 to 2022 at Red Hat's OpenJDK group, and 2022 until now at
Amazon's Corretto team.

I think that his technical expertise, his long-term experience with
the OpenJDK project and his ability to earn trust of the OpenJDK
community make him an excellent candidate for an At-Large seat on the
OpenJDK Governing Board.

Thank you and best regards,
Volker
