Latest instructions on getting and patching

Hi,

It's great that we have people building on many different platforms.

The bsd-port should build on linux-platforms as well. Although I still have
some problems with my build on Ubuntu 8.10.

If you could please share what failures you are experiencing in your build
we could better find out how to solve it.

As for my problems I still have some things that I am going to try.
