Hi John,

Thank you for the response.

Of course I see a lot of merit in what you are suggesting regards benchmarks and
the actual and more pressing concerns.

I do intend to work through a full and proper suite of tests and benchmarks to 
show what if any improvement can be gained. However - in this first instance I 
wanted to broadly check if this hasn't been done before so I am not wasting yours
or my time.
