python errors running hg qselect --pop in sources dir

Recently upgraded to Python 2.7.3 and Mercurial 2.2.2 (on Mac OS X 10.6.8 using brew) and am getting an error in python trying 
to pop a patch from the MLVM sources/ dir. However I'm NOT getting any errors popping patches from any other source directory.

Has anybody else seen a problem like this?
