performance degeneration from jdk7u2 to jdk7u6?

Hi Jochen

Since I am using a Mac I can get a wide range of builds to try (almost 
daily)
        http://code.google.com/p/openjdk-osx-build/

For the compiler Christian recommended I try 
        -XX:-TieredCompilation

which was my problem on jdk8 versions
